  • RRC – VHAI is a member of the core group for Village Health and Sanitation Committee in Rajasthan and is in the process of developing a module for the orientation of VHSC members.
  • RRC – VHAI represented in the State NGO Selection Committee meetings of Rajasthan.  Six new MNGOs in phase IV for the districts Alwar, Bharatpur Pali, Sirohi, Rajasamand and Bundi have been selected and the proposals of 5 MNGOs of phase II and III were approved for administrative and financial sanction.
  • The Coordinator, RRC – VHAI held a meeting with the Project Director Jammu and Secretary (H&FW) & Commissioner J&K to discuss the issues related to MNGOs, RRC & MNGO scheme.
 

 Networking and Advocacy efforts in Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand

With the aim to push the MNGO scheme in Delhi and to resolve the issues pertaining to the scheme RRC team visited all MNGOs and CDMOs of the respective districts in Delhi and discussed the bottlenecks of the MNGO scheme.  RRC is trying hard to get the pending proposals cleared.

A joint meeting with State Nodal Officer- NRHM and State NGO Coordinator was held to review the status of MNGO scheme in Delhi, evaluate progress of MNGOs and discuss area of collaboration under NRHM.A plan for visits to MNGOs of Delhi was also discussed and then followed up.

In a meeting with the new Director RCH, Rajasthan Dr. M. L. Jain RRC Coordinator introduced RRC-VHAI and apprised him about the RRC activities and status of MNGOs in the state. RRC coordinator during the meeting also discussed the areas of future collaboration and urged to approve the pending proposals at the earliest as the delay is adversely affecting the scheme in Rajasthan. She also followed up the dates to hold a GO-NGO partnership workshop at Jaipur, which is long pending.

RRC-team along with the State NGO Coordinator had a meeting with the Secretary (H&FW) Uttarakhand wherein the team introduced RRC-VHAI and briefed the Secretary about the role of RRC in MNGO scheme, status of MNGOs in Uttarakhand and also persuaded him to give dates for GO-NGO Partnership Advocacy Workshop.

RRC participated in the review meeting held under the chairmanship of MD, Rajasthan. All MNGOs, State NGO Coordinator, Director RCH, representatives of Department of women and child development, UNFPA and UNICEF were present in the meeting. During the meeting there was a discussion regarding the challenges and bottlenecks of the MNGO scheme, progress of MNGOs was reviewed. It was suggested on the persuasion of RRC to involve MNGOs in the training of Village Health Committees, which have been constituted in Rajasthan.
