In
order to create a vehicle for
networking of Mother and Field
NGOs and to share the progress
of RRC-VHAI and various Mother
NGOs and Field NGOs activities
and disseminate information
pertaining to innovative interventions,
successful models and achievements
of the project in various areas,
RRC-VHAI comes out with a Newsletter
- "Abhilasha", on
a regular basis.
· This newsletter provides
regular feedback and acts as
a forum for sharing of experiences,
information on available training
materials and training courses.
· The newsletter is an
effort at bridging the existing
gaps so that all concerned Mother
and Field NGOs begin to know
each other better and benefit
from eachothers experiences.
· The newsletter is strong
on theme and content in simplified
Hindi language. It carries facts,
case studies and success stories
on health and related issues,
News & Views – Workshops,
research / evaluation studies,
articles on various issues concerning
the reproductive health of women;
training; communication.
· The write-ups in Abhilasha
are duly supported with lot
of illustrations, photographs,
data tables and graphics (duly
supported by the Source of Information),
not only make educative reading
but also acts as a source of
information reaching the MNGOs
in sufficient number, updating
their information about training
programmes, meetings etc.
· The newsletter is also
a source of information on new
government social, developmental
and welfare schemes and government
programmes for the rural community.
· The published success
stories encourage and motivate
the project partners and grass
roots level workers in other
regions to replicate successful
models. They also give them
a sense of recognition and ownership
of the project.
