RRC-VHAI NEWSLETTER ‘Abhilasha’
In order to create a vehicle for networking of Mother and Field NGOs and to share the progress of RRC-VHAI and various Mother NGOs and Field NGOs activities and disseminate information pertaining to innovative interventions, successful models and achievements of the project in various areas, RRC-VHAI comes out with a Newsletter - "Abhilasha", on a regular basis.

Following Nine volumes of the Newsletter have been published till now:

Dossiers

To avoid replication of published material and ensure benefit of the available reference material , RRC-VHAI compiles Dossiers for MNGO's in both Hindi and English on Reproductive Child Health and related issues. So far , it has compiled Dossier I ,Dossier II and Dossier III which has been disseminated to all the MNGO's.

Maternal Mortality Rate , Family Planning , National Policies, Indian and Inernational Laws , Patients Rights and Responsibilities , Need of Service Providers and Consumer Rights.

Update on NRHM Goverment Programs and Schemes and Assistance for Voluntary Organization, Data on RCH and Demographic indiacators , Information on HIV and AIDS

KASBA: RCH based two short films
Kasba RCH based 2-short films ‘Mujhe Jeene Do’ (duration of each part – 30 minutes) have been put in the form of a CD.


Part – 1- Issue Covered - Domestic Violence; importance of Girl child for parents during their ripened years.


Part - 2 - Issue Covered - Desire for 'son'; Sex Determination & Female Foeticide.
Kasba RCH based short films’ CD has been disseminated amongst the M/FNGOs and various other stakeholders. Kasba has been telecasted by MoH&FW on Doordarshan channels

Maa Shesshu Swastha Sada ,RCH Ka Ye Vada : An Audio Jingle series on RCH


RCH is an issue of great concern in India. In its endeavor to combat RCH related problems, VHAI has developed Audio Jingles on key issues of RCH like Child Marriage, Child Spacing, Breast Feeding, Immunization and Antenatal Care.

This CD contains Audio Jingles on these 5 key issues and would prove to be a useful tool in disseminating information and creating awareness on RCH issues at grass root level. This can also be an effective advocacy tool for highlighting RCH concerns
Leaflet on RCH

In India, infant morbidity and mortality is an issue of great concern and also maternal mortality, which remains unacceptably high.The leaflet highlights the 5 important steps to reduce maternal & infant mortality.

The leaflet was distributed during Trade Fair ‘IITF 2007’
